Worksite Wellness Summit 2023
The 2023 LiveWell Jefferson Worksite Wellness Summit, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, took place Tuesday, August 15 at Copeland Tower Living in Metairie. The event increased attendees’ knowledge and awareness of worksite health and wellness program concepts, tools, and resources.
The agenda included a presentation by Sarah Babcock, Chief Administrative Assistant with Jefferson Parish, who delivered the parish’s most recent Health Assessment update which looks at both qualitative and quantitative health data to help determine public health priorities. The agenda also included a pair of panel discussions, one featuring previous Healthy Business Award winners and how they have maintained and improved upon their noteworthy workplace wellness practices. The second panel “COVID’s Over. Now What?” included a detailed discussion on the Community Healthcare Assessment, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FGHC), and mental wellness.
Following a presentation of the 2023 Healthy Business Awards, Shawn Verbeten with the LSU Ag Center led a presentation with summit attendees on the subject of healthy cooking and ways to improve nutrition at home and in the workplace. Following a brief Q&A session, Verbeten and the LSU Ag Center provided healthy smoothies to those in attendance.

Worksite Wellness Summit 2022
The 2022 LiveWell Jefferson Worksite Wellness Summit, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, was held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Copeland Tower Living in Metairie.
Participants increased their knowledge and awareness of worksite mental health wellness program concepts, tools and resources. The agenda included a welcome and update from Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng on the current health and state of our residents, an interactive “Stop the Bleed” training for workplaces, mental health break exercises, and an expert led panel discussion focused on Mental & Brain Health from local program leaders.
The Summit also celebrated a culture of health and wellness among the business community and residents of Jefferson Parish with the announcement of the 2022 Healthy Business Awards winners.

Virtual Worksite Wellness Summit 2021
The 2021 Worksite Wellness Summit was held virtually July 12-16, 2021. On the final day, the Healthy Business Awards were presented to recipients with a virtual presentation.
The Summit celebrated a culture of health and wellness among the business community and residents of Jefferson Parish. Participants increased their knowledge and awareness of worksite wellness program concepts, tools, and resources as well as increased employer capacity to build or enhance effective worksite wellness programs.

The inaugural Worksite Wellness Summit was held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Copeland Tower & Suites Conference Center. The Summit was free to attend. Attendees increased their knowledge and awareness of worksite wellness program concepts, tools, and resources as well as increase employer capacity to build or enhance effective worksite wellness programs.
